The GLP-1 Roadmap: Satiety, Strength, and Inflammation Control for Lasting Weight Loss

September 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2026

Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:00 PT via Zoom

An Online Class Exploring GLP-1 Medications, Muscle, and Metabolic Health

Whether you’re considering GLP-1 therapy, already taking a GLP-1 medication, thinking about tapering or transitioning off, or simply wanting to better understand this changing landscape, this 4-session online course provides a balanced and practical overview of how to use these medications thoughtfully and safely.

Monique Class, MS, APRN-BC, and Dan Lukaczer, ND, will guide you through understanding how GLP-1 medications affect appetite, fullness, digestion, blood sugar, insulin signaling, and weight regulation. Just as importantly, we’ll explore how to protect muscle, nourish your body, reduce side effects, and build habits that help your results last.

Together, we’ll explore the science, the choices, and the habits that can help you navigate the GLP-1 roadmap with clarity and confidence.

Class Overview

Week 1 – Understanding GLP-1s and the New Weight-Loss Landscape

We’ll start by setting the stage—what GLP-1 medications are, how they affect appetite, satiety, gastric emptying, insulin signaling, blood sugar, and weight regulation, and why they are changing the conversation around weight management. We’ll also discuss who these medications may be appropriate for, what questions to ask, and why medication is only one part of a larger metabolic plan.

Week 2 – Side Effects, Nutrition, and Muscle Protection

This week focuses on using GLP-1 medications safely and thoughtfully. We’ll review common practical concerns, including nausea, constipation, reflux, hydration, fiber, protein intake, and digestive support. You’ll also learn why muscle protection matters so much during weight loss, and how resistance training, protein, movement, and recovery help preserve metabolism, strength, and long-term function.

Week 3 – Metabolic Health, Plateaus, and Long-Term Success

Weight loss is only one part of the picture. In this session, we’ll explore what metabolic health really means—how well your body regulates blood sugar, insulin, appetite, digestion, energy, inflammation, and muscle. We’ll also discuss plateaus, cravings, energy changes, and how to use nutrition, movement, fiber, hydration, and habit tracking to support sustainable progress.

Week 4 – Tapering, Transitioning Off, and What Happens When Appetite Comes Back

We’ll close by discussing what to consider before stopping or tapering GLP-1 therapy, including appetite return, weight regain risk, hunger and fullness cues, maintenance strategies, and how to keep habits in place when the medication effect changes. You’ll revisit your Muscle and Metabolic Protection Plan so you can leave with a clearer, personalized roadmap for moving forward.

Each week will include dedicated time for questions and open conversation. This means you won’t just be listening—you’ll have the chance to ask what’s on your mind, hear from others who may be navigating similar decisions, and get direct clarification from us. Our goal is for you to leave each session not only with more knowledge, but also with a greater sense of confidence about how to use GLP-1 medications as part of a broader plan for long-term metabolic health.

This class complements individualized medical care. We do not prescribe or adjust medications in the group setting, although we are happy to work with you individually as well. Instead, we help you become more informed, more confident, and better prepared for productive conversations with your prescribing clinician.

The guiding idea is simple: medication is the tool, muscle is the protection, and habit change is what helps results last.
